Community Safety and Hate Crime Strategies 2023-27

In this article:
Haringey Council are committed to working together with our residents to tackle the issues that matter most to you.

The Community Safety strategy will shape the work of the Haringey Community Safety Partnership, which is chaired by the council alongside the police and other bodies working to make the borough safer. The strategy sets out the partnership’s approach and priorities to improving the safety of our residents, business, and visitors to support a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough. The Hate Crime strategy outlines the ways the council responds to and works to prevent hate crime affecting our diverse communities. Both strategies will run for a period of four years from 2023-27.

The Council know that crime and community safety are top priorities for our residents, and as a council we are committed to making sure that everyone, regardless of their background, their circumstances or where they live, can feel safe, secure, and confident in every corner of our borough. We know that our communities are the experts on these issues, so we want to hear as many views as possible on how we can improve community safety and tackle hate crime in Haringey.

We need your help

Haringey Council are committed to working together with our residents to tackle the issues that matter most to you. They know that you are the local experts on the issues that affect our community, so we want to hear your views on how we can improve community safety and tackle hate crime in the borough.

Your views will not only help us to understand what is important to you but will help us to ensure that our plans concerning community safety and hate crime reflect the everyday experiences and priorities that you may be concerned about.

The Council will use the findings from our engagement with you to help inform the Community Safety and the Hate Crime Strategies, including the actions that we will take to improve community safety and the quality of life for all our residents and communities in Haringey.

By working together, we will make Haringey a healthier, happier and safer borough.
