Following the Governments announcement a few weeks ago, there are two Grants available for businesses to apply for. These grants are one-off payments which you will get if your business fits the criteria.
Small Business Grant (£10,000)
The Small Business Grant is a one off payment to those who get small business rate relief which is where your rate value is under £15,000 per year.
Grants for Leisure, Retail and Hospitality (£25,000)
This grant is available to any business within these three sectors who have a rate value between £15,000 to £51,000 per year.
How to Apply
The grants are provided and administered by Haringey Council from the Guidance that is given to all local authorities by Central Government. To do this, ALL businesses in the two categories above need to complete either a paper or online form which is available from our dedicated COVID – 19 Loans and Grants page on this website.
Issues being raised
Over the last week, the BID has been undated with businesses contacting them in issues relating to these grants and how they get them. The BID has from the outset been working with our partners at the Council who in turn are working hard to look for solutions.
The two main issues being raised are that while you are a business, you may not be paying rates as this is done by a management Company or Landlord. The second issue is that the business rate reference may cover a property but there are multi businesses within this property.
The BID as said is working very closely with the Council and other business organisations to seek a solution to support our businesses. As soon as we receive any updates, we will publish them on our website here.
