Are you over 50, out of work, with an idea that you would like to turn into a business?

In this article:

Startup School for Seniors is an award-winning programme supporting people aged 50 and older to transform their ideas into successful businesses.

Since launching in October 2020, the programme has enabled more than 500 participants to develop essential entrepreneurial skills and build the confidence to become self-employed. As a result, these individuals have been empowered to become their own bosses.
If you are currently unemployed and aged 50+, have an idea for a business, you can join their next Islington-based cohort, for free, starting on 16th January for 8 weeks part-time. Taught as a series of video-based modules, along with 1:2:1 mentoring and peer-to-peer group sessions, you’ll learn how to:

  • Find your ideal customer
  • Build a one-page business plan
  • Price your product or service
  • Ensure you hold the proper licenses or insurance to operate.
