Wood Green Town Centre Vision

Over the last few years, Wood Green Business Improvement District (BID) has implemented several
initiatives in the town centre such as the Street Rangers, a radio scheme, new Christmas Lights, and a joint procurement service.

We also pledged with Haringey Council to work with businesses to create a longer-term vision for
the success of the Town Centre. Therefore, in Collaboration with Haringey Council, we are asking
you to get involved by letting us know your views on how the Town Centre should evolve.

Town Centres need to change…

Everyday sees new headlines about struggling High Streets. Town Centres that are preparing for the
future are thinking about things such as: new uses for empty properties, improving customer
experience, creating places to socialise, helping communities get more involved in their Town
Centre. This is more important than ever after the effects on high streets following Brexit, staffing
shortages and skills and the impact COVID-19 Pandemic.

About the Town Centre Vision

Wood Green BID have committed to an 18-month project in partnership with Haringey Council. This Project which is being jointly funded by Wood Green BID, Haringey Council, and the Mayor of
London.

This project builds on previous and other consultations such as the Council’s draft area Action Plan
but focusses specifically on the future of the Town Centre.

We are currently gathering views from the community in the first stage and from this, we will hold
citizens panels to discuss findings. Using the information, feedback, and findings, this will create the
Town Centre Action plan.
